Current print publishers

Believe there was a thread that got ditched in the big crash on this subject. What companies are currently active in the d20 System print publishing business?

Green Ronin While they're not doing a lot of the stuff I'd like to see, they're still doing a few d20 books.

Mongoose just came out with some 'renegade' tomes for clerics and wizards but like GR, mostly OGL and nowadays, miniatures with future plans for Runequest.

Necromancer Games one of the few whose function comes from d20, mainly adventure/sourcebooks with a few jaunts off to pure sourcebooks like Eldritch Sorcery and Tome of Horrors.

Goodman Games another one of the few whose main line seems to be classic dungeon crawl adventurers. Dragon Mech is pretty interesting for those looking for something different.

Privateer Press. is mainly into the miniatures but they still do RPG support in their mag No Quarter and they're supposed to have another Monsternomicon.

Malhavoc still doing some d20 support but seems fractured between AE, IH, and while Ptlous is d20, if it ain't your bag, they got nothing for you. The days of their general D20 support seem over.

White Wolf-Sword and Sorcery mostly out but still doing World of Warcraft and occassional other bits.

Alderac aka AEG and only because their Warlords books are supposed to be out (haven't seen 'em) and World's Largest City is supposed to be coming out. Let's check the web site... gee... nothing. Shocking!

Wizards of the Coast still the big dog.

Quite depressing when you think about it.

I hope things for d20 publishers pickup soon.

That's still a lot of publishers.

And it doesn't count WoTC generally putting out two hard covers a month.

I mean how much are people going to spend per month? Of course this doesn't count deluxe books like RA Reloaded or Ptlous or World's Largest Dungeon.

How many books a month do we need that no one buys? :\

Is it this bad for the whole RPG industry or is D20 expecially bad?

What's good and what's bad?

What we saw a few years ago was, as it were, and embarrasment of riches. No way it could last. Not really realistic to compare it to that. But then, what can you compare it to?

The last point was straight on the money. Sure I don't want a bunch of crap books that compete with the established good books. It just seems even the "good d20 books" don't get a fair shake due to the current marketplace.

I don't count WoTC in this analysis since they are frankly the 100 ton monster (that ate Chicago) of the RPG world. Second, Necromancer Games produces great stuff. I don't know how Clark and Bill are able to churn lots of books out, but still work full time jobs.

I guess my concern is that soon instead of Wizards of the Coast and everybody else, it'll be Wizards of the Coast and nobody else.

Don't forget Pardigm Concepts, Inc.. Their Arcanis line is all d20, with 8 titles, multiple printed adventures and over a hundred advenuters available for free through the RPGA.

The have also just sent to the printer Caliphate Nights in support of GR True20 system.

Respectfully,

Edward Kopp: Arcaniac at Large

I saw a really promising looking d20 product at my FLGS this past weekend by a publisher I wasn't familiar with. I'll have to look next time I'm up there (which might be a while, with me being at Wizard World Philly this weekend).

Is Malhavoc still doing AE support? I haven't seen or heard of anything since the Spell Treasury. They seem to do one thing a year (AE, IH, Ptolus), then move on.
