Paizo.

Where is the Silk Road I say!

And Age of Worms HC.

And Dungeon Compendium.

And Best of Dragon Compendium II (this time not with 60+% 3.0/3.5 material but you know, stuff people actually want to have converted as opposed to doing the work themselves!)

I'm not seeing much general d20 support.

Because, for the most part, it's not selling in numbers that make it worth producing general d20 support.

Everyone needs to accept the fact that the d20 boom is long over (likely forever).

And that's okay.

I'm not saying Ptlous isn't core d20 support. With it's Fiery Dragon stuff (probably some counters right away), Piazo miniatures (solid bases on 'em that aren't like Reaper's terrible ones), and a comic, if you want a city/campaign supplement and can afford it, that's awesome.

If you don't... then I stand my my statement that there isn't much d20 general support.

I'm not sure why you saw the need to single out a publisher as not providing general support. None of them really are. Again, let me be clear:

The days of a dozen different books on dwarves, sailing ships, and monsters are gone and not very likely to return. "d20" is a bad word tomany retailers and unless 4th edition continues the logo, and includes a quality-control phase, "d20" will probably always be a mark against a product trying to enter the standard distribution system.

Is FFG out of the business of D20 and now focused on boardgames?

Nope, they still are doing Midnight stuff. They are however not going to do any other d20 stuff in near future.

I think that the down swing in RPG sales mostly consists of the drop in D20/OGL sales. The market is flooded with d20 products now and people are being more picky about what they buy since about 90% (IMO) of the stuff is crap. The quality gets even worse when you start to look @ the PDF segment. So people are finally saying: "hey, I already have a book like that" , " I'm not paying $40 for that tripe", or " What else could I possibly need to run my game?". I think over all it is a combination of having to many duplicate products, decreasing quality, and having a book published for nearly everything already.

Small press non-d20 pretty much seems to stay the same as a whole despite what is happening with the big dogs.

I didn't 'purposely' select him out. Looking on the catalog, I see a lot of OGL material and Ptlous. If Pltous isn't your thing and you're looking for d20 support, Malhavoc does not appear to be providing it.

The others on the list though, like Goodman Games, are still providing entertainment. Heck, I think DCC is going for it's 3rd printing now no? And some I missed and were brought up by others.

A Magical Society: Silk Road will be available at GenCon. The PDF will probably come out early next month as I'm giving it the last look-over now.

Monster Geographica: Plain and Desert will hit stores next month.

1 on 1 Adventures #6.66 The Pleasure Prison of the B'thuvian Demon Whore should be out now and every other month starting in Sept. will have a new release in the 1 on 1 line.

We're still publishing. :)

Right. So, if you discount our biggest d20 book ever (and it's follow-up adventure and other stuff), we're not doing d20 support.

Wildwood from Bastion Press is being offerred as a POD and is being printed as we speak (according to Jim Butler). It should be available at Origins through Studio 2.

Which is the equivalent of saying "if (whatever company's) 1000 pages of product plus ancillary materials this year isn't your thing, they're not providing d20 support." If you'd written that for every company on your list, then it might be a fair complaint (if not a particular sensible one), but singling out Malhavoc looks kinda weird. How many companies are even doing 1000 pages of d20 product this year?

Ken Hite has a recent column that notes that the old model of every RPG publisher trying to churn out product every month just isn't working for anybody not named Wizards of the Coast and maybe White Wolf. If you don't like Ptolus, you'd better hope Mr. Hite's completely off-base, because it's almost the poster child for the sort of product he believes we're going to see from successful RPG companies in the future.
