Current SRD\D20 Statblock?

What is the current allowable statblock format for D20 or SRD monsters. Is there anything stopping you from including the Lore table with your own monsters for either the D20 or OGL license?

I'm luke warm about the new format but I really love the inclusion of Lore sections and I wish more publishers would use them. Of course if they can't use them by the terms of the license it's an unfair criticism.

Well, I'm certainly no legal expert, but the rules for the knowledge skill are in the srd, so I don't think anything would really prevent the inclusion of specific check results. It'll be interesting to see what the publishing folks say, though.

I honestly don't know. Although the use of Knowledge skills to learn information about specific creature types is in the SRD, it follows a different formula than WotC has been using. WotC has been using CR +5, CR +10, and so on for the bulk of the monsters in late-3e products, while the SRD states the formula is HD +10, HD +15, and so on.

I've just been going with an eyeball estimate of what makes sense, actually. I don't think either set formula is all that sensible all the time. But what would be legal is a different story.
