I guess the key is because somebody said you could play this module to be a vampire-hunter who killed Edward Cullen.

Ravenloft is the setting for D&D adult players who would rather gothic horror and it's a IP with great potential, for survival horror videogames or supernatural romances.

As of this posting, Strahd's overall rank is 158, which is amazing for an RPG supplement, especially so for an adventure. But it is still number 2 in fantasy gaming, as the PHB has crept up to 111 overall. Again, amazing.

Are people still gearing up to play, to play Strahd?

And its starting to slip.

Now behind the DMG in fantasy gaming, and 377 overall. Still good numbers, and still in there with the core books, but it looks like the tied is already turning.
