Has the backbiter cursed item shown up in 4e yet? I know Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium has cursed items in it, but I don't have a store nearby where I can check it out and thus haven't picked it up yet.

What I am actually interested in is the lore more than the mechanics. Does it tell you anything about who originally created the backbiter?
I'm thinking of pitching a Dungeon article based on the lore I've built around the Backbiter in my own campaign.

The book only has a short paragraph of fluff about how the curse was originally used by hobgoblins as a non-lethal training enchantment.
A detailed write up would be great, I think. And since the Magnificent Emporium is Greyhawk specific, there should be no problem with having completely new fluff.
