Custom Avatar - Subscriber only?

I was just browsing through the latest EN World Subscriber benefits list and noticed that one of the benefits now includes "Custom Avatar".

Does that mean if I try to change my avatar in the future it will simply disappear as a current non-subscriber?

Just wanted to check I'd understood that correctly because of what happened to signature links previously. Thanks!

I just changed my avatar, no issues. Maybe it is mislabeled and community supporters just get a larger custom avatar to work with. Or it could be further reduced functionality is on the way.

Don't mind either way, just wanted to check before trying to change the avatar.

Avatars are nice little add-ons but not that important. Losing signature links was more significant.

True that.. Its even sadder when they kill the section of the site your link is pointing to (like mine). Which reminds me, I should probably change it.

But yeah, if you try to change it you will loose it and be forced to use a standard one (unless there's a bug or unless you pay).

I've just changed mine and yes, as of writing, custom avatars still seem to be working for non-subscribers.

Whether the new avatar works as intended I've no idea but I can at least change it.

I actually managed to scan the avatar and it works!
