Customizable PCgen software?

Does anybody know of a software program that allows customization based on game system? For example, what Character Generator would be customizable for use with Savage Worlds or games using similar attribute ranking systems?

I'm guessing that one good option would be Hero Lab (www.wolflair.com). They've announced licenses for a few game systems already (including non-d20 stuff), and they talk about more announcements being imminent for other licenses. If Savage Worlds isn't in the list of upcoming announcements already, have the SW folks contact the makers of Hero Lab.

The problem is one needs to depend on wolfflair to provide the data sets...

Why would you think such a thing would be easy to program? If it were, there'd a half a dozen or more such projects in various states of useability. But there aren't that many because it is a hard programming problem.

Okay, I never said I thought it would be easy to program (I wouldn't know). I was just wondering if such a thing existed...

and it looks like it does, though I need to check out the demo when I get a chance.

Well, MetaCreator isn't free, and that was one of your explicit criteria. Since the free requirement appears to no longer apply, check out Hero Lab over at www.wolflair.com.

Customizing MetaCreator is, unfortunately, essentially a programming exercise. MetaCreator is basically a specialized programming language for character generators.

Last I checked, it was an exceptionally poorly documented one as well.

It's quite powerful, but scripting it will take a while.

I've got no familiarity with Savage World but if it's d20 then PCGen is probably able to support >80% of the system with only a new GameMode and lots of thievery from the xSRD it is based on.
