Calling on the collective wisdom of the internets!
I'm looking into solutions for a weekly game club I attend. Basically, they need game scheduling software so people know what games are on each week, and can sign up for slots. Much like how conventions have game scheduling on their websites.
I've tried messing around with calendar software and the like, but I can't find any of those which configure the way we need it. All the games will be at the same time on a Wednesday night, whereas calendars are more geared towards showing you a month and all the events in that month. What we need looks more like this:
Wednesday 2nd October
-- Barrows & Bearowls (4 slots remaining)
-- Voidhoppers & Spacemen (3 slots remaining)
Wednesday 9th October
-- Barrows & Bearowls (5 slots remaining)
-- Voidhoppers & Spacemen (5 slots remaining)
And so on.
Here's the setup I hope to find:
-- Club member 1 decides to run Barrows & Bearowls for 6 weeks. Sets up the game on the platform with 5 player slots.
-- Club member 2 decides to run Voidhoppers & Spacemen for 6 weeks. Does similar.
-- Potential players sign up for those slots, just like they would at a convention.
Even better would be if the platform supported 'seasons' as the club tries to encourage different games by having each run for a 6-week season (which can be 'renewed' for a longer campaign) punctuated with monthly One-Shot Wednesdays where everybody plays in a different game for a one-shot.
The platform would need to be inexpensive (the club can't afford much), easy to use, allow for unlimited users.
I guess some conventions use similar platforms for GMs and players. Anybody know what those are? Or are they all custom-coded?
Or maybe panel--scheduling platforms? I guess from the platform's POV there's no different between a game and a panel.
