D&D 5e Backgrounds - Farmer, Tinkerer, Demolitions Expert, and Harvester

I really like the tinkerer and the harvester! Those are broad, well-constructed, and have great in-game flavor. I love the background feature for both and think they are right-on as far as power level. Good ideas for the traits/flaws/bonds/etc. on both as well!

The farmer and the demo expert are a bit too specific I think, and in the case of the farmer, a bit overshadowed by the "local hero" one from the PHB. They don't seem to have quite the flare, somehow. Also, for all, I think ignoring or replacing "mech" as a tool prof. would make them appeal to more people.

But generally speaking: great job! That was a ton of work and you've really captured the feel of a background for all of them.

The Mech proficiency comes from my setting, but folks can easily sub that out with another tool or language if they want. I do need a way for my players to take the Mech proficiency if they want. I agree demolitions expert is setting specific, but that's what I was going for on that one.

For the Farmer I actually wanted something different than the Folk Hero background, because I think some adventurers are interesting when they enter the world with little experience. Luke Skywalker was just a farmer before his adventures began as was Eragon, ya know? I thought it was good to provide a Folk option without the hero already baked in.
