Wow, they seem to have mentioned D&D twice in the series. I just got the first season DVD and in the 20th episode, War Zone, they mentioned it. And last week's episode it was also mentioned. Just a little FYI for the community.....
Shortly after the gang moved into the hotel, there was a geeky accountant that popped in two or three times who was heavy into the gaming. IIRC, he even came into the hotel once dressed in a game related costume (I believe it was a wizard) because he thought Angel needed his help on a case. Turns out, Angel just needed his accounting expertise.
Actually, he was some Bill Gate clone who owns a high-tech corporation. And he hired Angel Investigation when they were operating at a tiny office, before Angel acquired the hotel.
