D&D 5E (2024) D&D Beyond's Development Roadmap Is A Complete Rebuild Of Platform

D&D Beyond has announced its roadmap for the future, including features in active development and those planned for later down the line. These include a full rebuild of the game platform's engine, a new character builder, tools for Dungeon Masters, and more.

Over the past few months, we’ve launched a new homepage, a revamped and more sortable content library, image reveals in the Maps VTT to help DMs immerse their players more easily, and several other quality-of-life improvements.

2026 is a year of refocusing and rebuilding D&D Beyond to make it easier to play D&D your way. Three major initiatives will drive most of our work:

• Rebuilding D&D Beyond’s Game Platform
• Improving Player Onboarding and Revamping the Character Builder Experience
• Launching a Suite of Dungeon Master Tools

Years ago, shortly after the platform launched, they switched their login process, so I had to create another account. I actually have 2 active accounts and my PC was logging into the wrong one. My old laptop died last November so the new one must have defaulted to the newer "wrong" account. I found the characters I created but my campaign and purchases are still nuked. I check back in a few days. Thanks

I'll wait a few days as @dave2008 said and see what happens. I'm wondering if it's because I haven't logged in a quite a while. I'm not playing 5E or D&D period so it's not a big deal at the moment. I was more worried why I couldn't access the core books I bought.

I will soon if it doesn't resolve itself. I'm suspecting that if they are rebuilding the platform, it's quite possible they were working on it during off peak hours which it was 2 or 3 AM when I was trying to access my stuff, so that may have something to do with it.

I’d check your purchase history in the site to see if that data is available. I know that the new library dropdown is blank if you have no favorites listed and you have to view the entire library to see purchases.

The cool thing is they seemed to fix the issue where a market icon appears next to books I owned.

There was a disconnect where I’d check marketplace and it said I owned it and I could still access it but it kept showing a cart icon even when I’d bought it.

I did and there is no purchase history listed. Further its only showing the "within the last 3 months" but that is greyed out, so I can't even look back any farther. The only items that appear as I own them are the free items. When I clicked on the 24 PHB & DMG it brings up the ToC but when I click on a link it sends me to the page to purchase it...again. I'll check it later tonight or tomorrow.
