D&D Cadence

I was running today and upped my distance to over 4 miles, so it was getting a little tough. As usual, I slipped into my Basic Training mindset and started doing cadence in my head to make it through. Except this time, I created D&D themed cadence quite unintentionally and off the cuff. I thought I would share:

One and two and three and four
The Elf listens at the door
Five and six and seven and eight
Thief searches 'fore it's too late
Nine and ten and ten and nine
Magic-user, back o'the line
Eight and seven and six and five
Need the cleric to stay alive
Four and three and two and one
Fighter fights 'til fighting's done

that's awesome, I wish I could come up with stuff like that when I run, I just think up plots and dialog instead.

I zone on stuff, including game stuff, pretty good until it gets *hard* and then I have to do cadence or controlled breathing. I never much liked running but I quit smoking and picked it up again after a couple months of eating non-stop.

I was helping one of my buddies out, as he was concerned about the running portion of the test, and he was trying to get into Basic Training. I'd never had a problem with the runs, so I helped him out.

His version was about not needing cheeseburgers and milkshakes and stuff.

Running makes you say the goofiest stuff, but man, is it fun.
