I've been trying to fill out the yearly calendar of my game world with holidays and festivals, and of course the majority of them revolve largely around the gods (I'm using the core pantheon). The Core beliefs articles in Dragon have been immensely help in this effort, but not every god has been given treatment in these articles yet. Here are a couple I've come up with.
Wandermorn - This is a week long ritual celebrated by worshippers Fharlangn, the God of Roads. The streets, roads and pathways are usually peppered with travelers and pilgrims during this seven day stretch in mid spring. In particular, every cleric of Fharlangn packs up all of the belonging they can carry or cart, and simply set off on the road, with no directio or destination in mind. During this period, they talk to townsfolk, villagers, and noblemen alike, performing healing rituals and other ceremonies where necessary, but for the most part, they do what they can to keep travelling, always veering off on a less traveled path, never going straight when they can take a new course. At the end of the seven day journey, the clerics stop their travels, and set up shrines on the spot where they place their last step. Many clerics end up in populated cities, but just as many end up erecting small shacks to be used a shrines on the side of a little used cowpath.
Goldensun - The holy day with the prettiest name on the whole calendar is the day which many dread the most. It is not, as it may sound, a day for the Sun God, Pelor, but the holiest day on the calendar for those gnomes who worship their patron, Garl Glittergold. Anyone who is brave enough to approach a gnome on this day is in for the pranking of their life. Most dwarf clans have had the wisdom to avoid trade or any dealing with their wee kinfolk on that day, or for the three days before and after, for that matter. The day is a celebration of all things gnomish, and it is typically accompanied by a tremendous feast (which has been known to explode in the faces of revellers). Items have been known to go missing, buckets of water mysteriously fall from window ledges, and livestock somehow usually manages to fin its way into people's homes. It is a day of pure chaos for anyone who dwells close to a gnomish community, but since the jokes and pranks are typically harmless, Goldensun is a day that is marginally tolerated in all but the most lawful and humourless of cities (where gnomes typically wouldn't be found anyway).
