D&D 5E D&D Events at GenCon

Yes. This. I agree 100%.
My experience with Next is limited to the very first Winter Fantasy/DDDXP playtest (and a very casual look at what has come since). I played a halfling rogue and had a great time. That said, my enjoyment came in spite fo the system, not because of it. I understand-- from fans here-- that Next has come far since that initial playtest. Unfortunately, over the course of its development. I have moved again. Job and geography (and wife) make it more difficult for me to game on a regular basis than I once did.
Follow me here; I'm about to make a bit of a jump. I love organized play. I played in Living City (and Living Jungle, Living Death, and Living Verge a little). I played in the first few sessions of Living Greyhawk, but then went on a five year hiatus for general surgery residency. For those who don't know, for those five years, I had almost as much free, unsupervised time as if I had been in prison. As I was finishing residency, Pathfinder Society and LFR were on the rise. I played a lot of LFR and loved it. I still play PFS every chance I get.
Now, coming full circle, I want next to be a success, but even more important to me than the success of the edition-- I want it to foster a successful organized play program, and I would like to get in on the ground floor. While I cannot participate in an ongoing weekly campaign, I get some of that feel by playing intermittently in organized play campaigns. So, WotC, if you are listening, please lt me (and everyone else know)-- do these adventures kick off a new organized play campaign? LFR2? Living Moonsea (which would be pretty fricking cool)? Or are they disparate from any organized play campaign that is in the works?
In my moves, I have left behind several gaming groups. I am still in touch with two of them. One group is very happy with the Pathfinder mechanics (they love character optimization) and Pathfinder Society play. The other group embraced 4E upon its release and are sad to see its passing. They might be persuaded to give 5E a try if I can say to them, "hey guys, I know you are not excited about what you have seen from 5E, but they have this great thing called Living Moonsea. It's like LFR-- remember all the fun we had playing LFR-- but it is more closely tied to one region of the world. We shoudl give it a try at GenCon... or Con on the Cob... or any little con where we next cross paths. Maybe I should even make the trip up to your place. We can download the adventures. They're free (or they only cost 3.99. Three quick adventures, and we'll be ready for Winter Fantasy. I hear they are going to have a huge, eight hour (not a piddly three hour) battle interactive. You know how much you loved the LFR battle interactives."
Come on WotC, please, please give me something to work with, give me this to get my friends excited about what you have been working on for the last two (plus) years.
