Penguin Random House will release a pocket sized book looking at the world of D&D titled Dungeons & Dragons Pocket Expert.

Penguin Random House will release Dungeons & Dragons Pocket Expert, a pocket-size guide to the world of Dungeons & Dragons, into retail on October 8, 2024.

This small but mighty tome of knowledge contains information on everything from dragons to elves. It offers up players bite-sized information on key locations, spells, monsters, and characters. The book also breaks down the lore for heroes and villains of the realm, and has data files with class and skill information.

It will retail for $7.99

I wonder what setting(s) it'll pull from? It's not like there's one "Dungeons & Dragons" setting. They say "the realm" so I guess FR, unless it's talking about the D&D cartoon's "The Realm!"

The link does not say more then the OP. It might just be the 5e SRD on a cash grab. I can see soldiers using it since it would be easy to pack and ship.

And here I came to make a funny about having something else in my pocket- or at least a bad riddle reference.

Ah shoot. I thought they were reproducing the 21st century micro reprints of B/X that are small enough for the book to fit in a shirt pocket (I have the Expert set, been snooping for a copy of the Basic set).

I thought the same thing, so yeah, it is possible.

Well, maybe not based on the Expert Set of the past, but a 5E variant of it... sure.
