Well here's 1/3 bags. Other two are backpacks for a few books.

Blue Folder. DM notes and maps etc
. The campaign.

Square cardboard box on top of case. Minis. Refreshed each session as needed

Star Wars case. His pencil case.

Cat pencil case. Her pencil case.

Black Dungeons and Dragon 3E box. DM dice.

Its fine black bag. Whiteboard/battlemat eraser.

Black drawstring bag silver d20. Spare dice bag.

Smaller bright case. Condition rings for minis.

Grid. Fold up battlemat.

Peace Was never an option. Her dice bag.

Whiteboard. Initiative tracker.

Thin brown box. Spell templates.

Ziplock bag. More minis. Prepainted 3E ones.

So 5.5 is a bit more complicated. Wife likes buying D&D stuff. Keeps multiplying.

Year or do ago it was 2 dice bags, pencilcase, minis. Haven't used the condition rings yet. First time Sunday.

A lot of similar things. I have another player bring his box of minis and a box of dungeon tiles, so that cuts my load down. I tend to make modules with the monsters stats in already like what 4e did so I can cut down on books as well. I do have a few random maps and pogs with numbers I can use for a group of monsters.

One thing I did make and use is an initiative tracker with clothespins and one of those metal expandable pens with a magnet on the end for picking up dropped washers and screws from tight places. It stands up and people can see who is next and helps pay attention.

Mine is a small shoulder sling with a tablet computer (tabs for Beyond, a couple SRD sites for books I own, the regional map, the campaign one-sheet, custom random encounter table), dice tray, mini DM screen, at least two sets of dice plus a couple dozen d6s for 'mapping' and lots of graphed index cards for notes and quick maps. Sometimes I'll bring a book or two, but rarely.

Going ultralight means more frequent play.

That's really useful, I kept making mistakes even with the order written down in front of me, so I switched to color-coded tabs (each player has a different color, and the character names are printed on them) that I put on top of the DM screen and it's really helped keep things straight.

I've switched from gaming at my local game store to hosting at home, so my game box has really shrunk down. Right now I'm using an old chromebook box with a magnetic catch lid, which I use to hold three sets of dice, said initiative tabs, some writing materials, and player handouts (maps, letters, magic item cards, etc.).

My plan was for ultralight. Then wife discovered Temu.

Reduced the books carried. Use flgs books, terrain etc.

Many years ago, snagged a mil-surplus assault pack mollie style for not much. Plus some of the add on containers. Currently setup with two 40mm grenade pouches( 1 LED headlight), (1 loan a dice set). A 1 qt canteen carrier(normally fit a repurposed 20 oz Gatorade bottle with drink of choice). 1 gen purpose pouch that carries my dice bag. 1 larger gen purpose pouch for my drink mug(often prefilled with ice). Pack has two storage areas. Smaller one holds a pencil/pen/viv-a-vis assortment in a small carrier, Small tube of hand lotion, Small bag of toilet paper(a host ran out once, lesson learned), Two emergency dice games(Gelatinous, Trophy Buck) - both have been used when main game had hold up, One crown royal bag with several 30mm d6 for when the RPG of choice is d6 based, One Zombie Apocalypse copper coin - just because. Main storage area is used for character folder(s), dice tray, Plano box with minis and small terrain bits, ipad tablet and other things needed for that session that will fit.

Used to live about a mile away from one of the folks that frequently hosted and would often walk there with the pack being used as a pack. Also good for game cons.

I chuck mine in a heavy cloth supermarket bag.
