Hmm - we still don't know that much about Giants of Legend.

The best guesses are as follows:

* Fire Genasi
* Warforged
* Warforged Warhulk (huge)
* Behir (huge)
* Fire Giant
* Huge Red Dragon (huge)
* Treant (huge)
* King Bruenor
* Demon, Glabrezu (huge)

Cheers!

Did they change the name from Warforged Titan?

ESPN2 showed what looked to be a female Storm Giant this morning.

That's 7 of 12 huges known. At least one has to be common (and it' s not the Red Dragon).

I'll agree that once the price goes beyond a certain point the PnP player will go for metal and hire paint or self paint. Although the number of collectors is higher than I would have thought. That segment of the market could drive the prices very high (since they accept no substitute).

At the GAMA Trade Show they had a Bulette (huge) on display as a sample of the Giants of Legend figures, as well as the huge Red Dragon. (Both looked really great.)

Crud, and here I thought the Huge Red Dragon was going to be a small mini! :p

</sarcasm>

Confirming what I said earlier, if you throw the Storm Giant and the Bullette into the mix you're gonna have numerous "common" huge figs that you aren't going to use all that often for your D&D game.

How many packs I buy depends on what Huges I get. The first time I pull out a Warforged Titan, a Storm Giant or (especially) a Treant, that's my last pack.

If it happens on my first pack, oh well...

Seriously, how often do you use Huge creatures in your D&D games? It really isn't that often for most people.

The name of the Warforged Warhulk is wrong; sorry, I'm getting it confused with a Magic card. :) Titan it should be.

Did I leave out the Bulette? How did I do that!

I can now reveal that there will also be a (huge) Cloud Giant in the set.

I think the format and price changes are going to hurt mini sales. IMHO we, the Internet groud, are a big reason for the big run up in sales of minis. The average gamer goes to his FLGS and purchases one, two or maybe three expansion packs for $10 each. We, on the other hand, go to Ebay or GameOutfitters and purchase one, two, or three cases at $100 each. I include myself in the we as I have recently purchased my first case of Archfiends. My case was almost perfect. On 2 rare duplicates and at least one of every common and uncommon. But I will not be purchasing a case of "Giants", too much $$$$. I think there will be fewer of us who go out and purchase cases of "Giants" as well.

I think WotC is making lots of money on minis. Instead of trying to make the mini craze last as long as possible, and make the most money in the long run, I think their looking to get short term profits before the market dies. These price increases and 25% reduction in the contents of a starter set are putting some nails in the minis coffin. Right now it's $10 to pick up a booster. Soon it will be $20. When the prices come back down in the fall it will be $13, but the 4 to 5 months at $20 each is going to really hurt sales.

Again, this is my oppinion.

I've been wathching the prices on Ebay for minis. Except for a few, most rares are selling for $5 to $8, not the $12 to $20 they were 6 weeks ago. I think that prices have begun to stabalize and that prices of the "giant" set will be similar on Ebay to current minis, with the exception of the huge rares. I know that I will be purchasing all my future minis in singles or very well priced groups. I would rather pay $25 for a rare and a handfull of commons and uncommons that I really want, than a $150 for a case of the unknow.

Rare AND Common huge figures? Some of these could be useful to have numerous copies of but some of the others are just gonna be taking up shelf space.
Calling them Rare and Common huge figures is very misleading. Rare and Uncommon is more like it. If you look at the numbers, the rare huges will be just a little more rare than the regular rares (25%/6= 1/24, versus 1/23), while the uncommon huge will be slightly more rare than a regular uncommon (75%/6=1/8 versus 3/21=1/7). All in all not a bad distribution...
