D&D Miniatures news

I've just posted a bunch of news about the D&D Miniatures game on my website.

A few highlights:
* The Aberrations rulebook has been posted on the Wizards site for downloading
* Stats for the Exorcist of the Silver Flame (a rare LG commander)
* Death Knell contains 2 uncommon large figures, one of which is an animal, most likely a bear.
* Lots of other news of upcoming miniatures
* Mounted Units are coming, but the sculpts are giving Wizards problems
* Difficult is being dropped from the newer figures. Instead there is "Wild" (animals - they can't be controlled except by beastmasters) and some other new disadvantages...

Cheers!

also, the dragonlance mini in Abberations is confirmed to be Mina (from the war of souls trilogy and the new Dark disciple trilogy). Sov Press shared this info at gencon.

This great new! I hope they'll do her justice!

I'm a little disappointed to hear that about Mina. I was rather more a fan of the idea of releasing 1 draconian type (common/uncommon) per set. Far more useful for game sessions...

Our army of Baaz and Kapaks are going through identity crises!

I wonder if this means that they are dropping beastmaster level ratings as well. So, anyone with a beastmaster rating can control difficult monsters? Did they say how this will effect the older minis with difficultly ratings? Now just be treated as "wild"??

Beastmaster is remaining in the game.

Wild is the equivalent of Difficult 20, with the exception that an out-of-command Wild creature is not forced to Rush the nearest opponent - they can keep moving at speed 2.

The Difficult ability is remaining in the rules, but no new figures will be produced with it. Eventually, there will be figures to control all existing Difficult figures, according to the designers.

Cheers!
