I've found out the "right" way to pronounce "Sigil" very recently and I've been upset ever since. This is like the "Ravnica" fiasco all over again.

Google tells me two: British "si·jl" and American "si·gl". So which way is the "right" way you have just discovered?

Small background info: I'm not a native English speaker (my mother tongue is Spanish).

I was dead sure that the pronunciation was this one (the British one). And the American one (si-gl) was VERY jarring on my ears.

Bonus background info: In non-english speaking countries, most of the English teachers (this includes schools) will teach British English, despite the fact that (at least for 99% of south Americans) learning American English would be measurably more useful. No shade on British English, tho! It is what it is.

The City of the Spire at the center of Planescape also known as the City of Doors...is pronounced with a hard G. So "SIG-ell" not "SIJ-ell".

It's unknown if Project Sigil is using that same pronunciation because it's tying itself into the lore of if it's going to use a soft-G or J sound to tie into medieval heraldry and the more common pronunciation.

Oh, nevermind my first post. "Ravnica" is pronounced the way I originally though. It was the other guy that was wrong (he said rav-NIH-kah which sounds super cursed to me).

I did take a guess that the second would be correct as the intellectual property was published by a U.S.A. company so I imagine the writers when naming the city would sound it out the American way.
