So thursday the embargo on reviews lift and we will be hit with the paid reviews. But with copies in the wild ar Gencon maybe we will get some real talk reviews pretty soon. I assume some folks will be playing it at Gencon as well.

Not that the reviews matters, I'm buying the books anyway. It's D&D, I'll buy it and play it then probably go back to B/X.

I did the bundle of physical and digital (master tier subscriber) so I’m looking forward to both dates I and our gaming group can look them over. I’ll check out the various reviews that will pop up on YouTube cause I’m guessing they all aren’t going to be be doom and gloom :) I’m looking forward to the changes, just like I was with 2e and 3e releases.

I’m not a fan of seeing the month and a half delay between first people able to buy and me. Like I’m good with a small early release window, but that’s crazy.

Ah, most of that is WotC just wanting to have a presence at GenCon. It's not ideal, but ideally they'd have been able to do the full release at GenCon. They're not holding back the books for the latest date - they're madly printing them to have them available for that date.

They'd originally wanted to put all three books out together, too, but they found that no printer could handle the print runs that they wanted, so the staggered release of the books is down to the time it takes to print them all.
