Well, the D&D Miniatures have now been out long enough for most of us to get an opinion of them.

What's yours?

Cheers!

Up. Way up.

I don't play the skirmish game often (for the moment) but the minis have really gone over well with my group. Now I have to get better terrain. :)

i like them, but I wish I could just buy a few of the monsters I want, so I am not buying any of the random packages. I have plenty of metal character types
so i don't need or want to pay for those

i'll probably buy the random star wars packs though, as i don't have many sci-fi character types

Thumbs up from me too... although like some others have said it would be nice to be able to get specific monsters rather than taking pot-luck all the time ( although I have to admit it's quite exciting opening the cellophane on a box to see what you'll get :) ).

I think WotC hit the mark here ( although not sure how they're selling) - a friend on mine who DM's and hadn't bought minis for nearly 20 years has bought loads of these to start up his collection - doesn't have the time to paint metal anymore...

Thumbs up. Would be even more up if I could find someone in Singapore to trade with.

Well, trade to Australia!!! ;)

Anyway, almost more interesting would be to find out how people felt about them before compared to how they feel now. I was always keen on the idea, but I want to know if there are any converts.

I voted sideways, but I am glad they are popular. More mini gaming is a good thing. I hope it draws a few people into other aspects of the hobby. Available minis means that D&D will continue to emphasize minis use, which I like.

I also hope that the current minis lead to something closer to the original design team's wishes of recurring purchases. Minis were always a key component in the business strategy IIRC.

I voted that I do not like them. I bought the starter pack and an expansion pack. I am glad to have bought them since it increased rapidly and cheaply may miniature collection. However, I am very disapointed with the finish product. Alot of the miniature I got are, I feel, badly "painted" : misshapen eyes, incomplete colouring, etc. Furthermore, a few of the miniatures I got were had pieces bent and since they are made of plastic, I can't seem to unbend them. For these reasons, the miniatures do not get my vote.
