The way this class is shaping up, I think it will be the first time I actually really want to play a Warlock. Prior incarnations always had at least one thing that really rubbed me the wrong way, but this type is hitting all my buttons.

Man, it was a better fit in 4e, too, they just favored tradition over fiction in that instance. ;)

I honestly expected angel, dragon, elemental and genie pacts at some point in 4E's lifespan. I'm really surprised we never got them--but I think by the time certain archetypes (witch and sha'ir) came around, the game had moved into its Essentials/early Next mode of "arcane spellcasters are wizards if we can make that at all possible." Fortunately, that seems to have been left behind again.

No problems in the design of the Warlock, or the 'magic triumvirate' (Wizard, Sorcerer, Warlock) being formed.

Would prefer the name of the Warlock being changed to Witch (to get more female gamers interested as much as anything else), or at least making the two names interchangeable.

Where are the witchalocks?
Witchaloks may be gone, but they will live on in our hearts... forever....

Warlocks sound very, very interesting. If the option to play a warlock with a non-fiendish pact is available (such as angel, dragon, elemental, or genie) I might have to jump on this class and do a little happy dance.
