D&D Races and Creatures concept sketches.

First Post
A few months back, I got inspired by the talk of D&D Next's concept art, and decided to do a little concepting of my own. Some of these have already been posted on EN World, but others haven't, so I'm putting them together here.

I really like the pig-snouted orc, aarakocra and the gnoll.

One of the things I really like is that the characters aren't weighed down with a million pieces of gear. WAR's stuff always seems too busy

I really like the Aarakora, as I've said in the other thread I'm not a fan of the your interpretation of the goblinoids but that is mainly because for the last twenty years I've been influenced by LotR and traditional goblinoids. By themselves, as your run of the mill beastmen they look great!

Since when gnomes got tiny noses? I always though about them having bulbous noses...
As for the halfings, they look o.k. Unlike the gnomes, if it weren't for the caption on the bottom right of the picture wizard I would have had a hard time telling them apart from a couple of regular humans. I think that this picture drive home what Jon was saying in his last column.

All in all excellent work, kudos!

Whoa, a porcine orc that actually rocks and is scary! Cool.

I don't much like your take on elves as human fashion models though. The guy on the right in particular looks comical; the jawline is way too strong. He looks like Commander Shepard from Mass Effect wearing a wig.
