D&D 5E D&D Season 5 Speculation Station

I just received the Launch Event package for Curse of Strahd. While Death House has already been released to the public via Dragon+, there was a piece of information within the Death House Instructions that stuck out like a sore thumb: Season 4 lasts only from March 4 to June 19.

This means that we should be hearing about what the next adventure is by late April-early May.

What do you think it's going to be? What would you like it to be?

You seem to assume there will be a new adventure ready by June 20.

To me it looks far more likely the kids are let out to play during the summer, and the AL will resume come august-september.

Season 5 is set to kick off at Origins Game Fair with DDAL 5-1. What's the last day of S4? The Sunday of Origins.

Additional evidence that suggests an upcoming June release is the document seen on the CoS peeks thread. It seems to be deliberately positioned such that we can only see "June 2016" and "Secret D&D" on it.

Shakespearean Giants leads to a return to Against the Giants. But perhaps it’ll be something new, because I don’t know that we’d see another homage product immediately after Curse of Strahd.

It also makes me wonder if that is where we'll see psionics appear, and if so, what's the connecting angle? But I don't think it'll be the place...probably not until another Adventurer's Guide comes out.

Shakespearean Giants. We know they're waiting in the wings.

Actually, another homage product seems likely, especially if it's got the same reduced level range of CoS. All other seasons ran from 1-15, while CoS will go from 1-10.

The only way that I can see them going back to 1-15 adventures is if CoS was done in an attempt to shift the release schedule so that new seasons will start in June & November. Doing so will take advantage of optimizing buy-in by timing the releases with Summer vacation and Holiday shopping season.

Tomb of Horrors

I think that it could work if they can flesh out enough lead-in material to start the adventure at 1st level. Of course, they'd have to find some way to shoehorn it into the Forgotten Realms, as long as the "All Roads Lead to Faerun" mandate persists.

The Death of Strahd (Levels 11 -20)?

I highly doubt it for two reasons.

1. If this was the next release, then this season would be much longer. Related adventures would be lumped together into a single season.

2. I highly doubt that we'll see any seasons that don't include a component to start at 1st level anytime soon. Rise of Tiamat exists because it's the second half of the story started in HotDQ. 5e is still too young for there to be a major need for such high level play that can only be sated by a dedicated hardcover. With the AL modules now open to the home market, there's going to be plenty of Tier 3 material that can be adapted to your own games.
