D&D 5E D&D Starter Set Create a Character

I bought the D&D starter set a few days ago for me and my brother in law to play. I come from 3.5 while this will be his first expience. Anyway I looked through the characters and decided to make one for myself. Our party consists of the two fighters, the wizard, the cleric, and finally my half elf paladin. We'll be starting soon, but I wanted to know if you guys were going to make an extra character what would it have been?

Tradition would dictate a Thief (now a Rogue archetype).
