Am I just confused or is it true that you can't look at the pictures in the galleries, just download them?

Under the classes page...

"While these are core classes(referring to Fighter, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard and RANGER) of the game you'll find others in the player's handbook". This leads me to think going to get ranger in basic.

Same would go for the Ranger named Talon from Ten Towns, it sounds VERY much like the character was developed for the latest expansion of the online game.

I was wondering what the deal was with that series of named heroes. Are they characters in the MMO? I thought they might be our new 5e icons (like Regdar, Lidda, et al). All I know is, if Talon really is from Ten Towns, somehow I don't think she'd be wearing the kind of outfit she's pictured in.

It says "download", but when I click on the links, the pictures just open in a new browser tab. But yeah, that seems to be the only way to look at them. Weird way of doing a gallery, if you ask me.

Being from the Ten Towns is probably like being Canadian: anything above 10°C counts as t-shirt weather for us.

It also doesn't say she is in Ten Towns. She's probably popped down to Neverwinter or Waterdeep and is feeling the heat!

They need to fix up the galleries. Like get rid of the "download" attribute from the drop-down links since that does trigger a browser download in the newer browsers. And then put the other images in the gallery among the queue of images.
