That's the person who posted the link to the announcement on gleemax and who has been answering digital initiative questions on the boards. I suspect that the DM signature was out of habit.

Right. Then it could have been a piece of crap on any machine. I have yet to see anything coded in Java that didn't perform like a high school project.

Granted, I work in a .NET shop and my exposure to Java is limited. There just aren't any good publicity projects for Java. Everything I've used that I'm aware of being done in Java makes it seem like the platform is a generation behind .NET. It's like comparing VB3 to C++.

That said, and because I really don't want to turn this into a platform jihad, if there are some top-tier apps written in Java, please point me in that direction. Seriously. I want to be dissuaded of my opinion.
