D20 Book for Epic Monsters?

I'm one of those that sort of bashed d20 products and hardly bothered perusing them and didn't want the "unofficial" feel of it in my games. However, at one point I found myself sticking a foot in my mouth and buying a couple. I've done so with Arms&Armor by Bastion Press and Dragons by AEG long time back.

And I need to do it again and I see why some buy 3rd party products...they sometimes cover what WotC DOESN'T and SHOULD cover.

So my question is, is there any 3.5 3rd party book released or soon to be released that has epic monsters? Monsters at, like, CR 21+ like those found in the ELH? I remember possibly hearing of one being released soon by Mongoose I believe?

Thanks.

Mongoose has one coming up that should be not half bad. The other two books in the series are a collection of spells for Wizards and Clerics, and this one does the same for Epic Monsters from all over d20 land:

Epic Monsters

Doesn't the first section of the Immortals Handbook (Epic Bestiary, I believe..?) also cover this ground? That pdf seems to get a lot of press around here, too.

I'll second the recommendation of Legends of Avadnu though. Particularly if you like the look (or sound) of Avadnu at all.

I'll third the recommendation. Legends of Avandu was one of my best RPG-book reads.

The Immortals Handbook is far larger, I think. I believe it too is only available as a pdf as of now, at virtually all the virtual stores (ENWorld, RPGEdge, DriveThruRPG).

I wonder how much will Mongoose take from these two.

There can be no doubting that Legends of Avadnu is a great book. Beautifully-produced with just over a dozen well-done monsters, eleven new epic feats, a new epic material, and a section on existing epic monsters in the world of Avadnu, it's as good as anything you'll find in the ELH.

That said, I recommend the Immortal's Handbook Epic Bestiary vol. 1 most. This product also has eleven new epic feats, and a new epic material, but it has over fifty new epic monsters (more if you count the various templates, multiple age categories for dragons, and different creations of epic golems). Add in to that the new expanded rules for size, virtual size categories, the holistic meta-multiverse, and the various new epic spells, epic magic items, and major and minor artifacts scattered throughout the book, it becomes easy to see why this was the #1 bestseller at the EN Gamestore for several weeks (and is even now #2) - and that's without mentioning that the monsters here have CRs measure not only in dozens, but also in hundreds and even thousands.

So, while both are good books, you can guess which one I'd recommend more. ;)

I own the previously mentioned Immortals Handbook: Epic Bestiary Volume 1 and would reccomend it to someone looking for more epic monsters. Specifically, it has a good range of critters, (some two, some three, some even four digit CRs) some handy templates, and good advice on creating your own Epic Golems and Dragons. Being the first release of the Immortals Handbook, it's arguably part monster book, part general issue rule book.

The aforementioned Mongoose book is to include creatures from Legends of Avadnu, and I beleive Immortals handbook as well.

Hey Psion! :)

The Mongoose book has four creatures from the Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary: Volume One. I'm looking forward to seeing how their artists interpret my ideas.

...and thanks for some of the kind words people have said about the Immortals Handbook -Epic Bestiary.

The print version of the Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary: Volume One, coincidently also from Mongoose (under their Flaming Cobra imprint) is due out this September (or thereabouts). ;)

Monsters of Norrath and Monsters of Luclin for the Everquest RPG are OGL games with a few differences from 3.0/3.5 but they have a lot of high CR monsters that get into epic challenge ranges.

Manual of Monsters has a few NPCs at the end that are epic levels but use World of Warcraft 1e classes.
