Why does everyone say that they have to have a credit card to order online? I hate credit cards and will probably never use one but that has never stopped me from ordering online. I always pay with a money order and never had a problem paying that way
Your bank debit card works just fine as a credit card. Only way I can order anything online as I haven't had a credit card in a good 3 years.

While that is true, you should be aware that debit cards typically do not have the same consumer protection safeguards in place as credit cards.

Get ripped off on a credit card and you are probably going to get your money back, get ripped off on a debit card and you are just screwed.

I have yet to see ANY Privateer Press books for sale anywhere near me. Amazon and Wal-Mart also don't have them in stock. My FLGS had the Monsternomicon in ONCE about a year ago, but I was broke then and I couldn't buy it. :(

Well, for Ancient Kingdoms: Meso., I'd recommend heading over the Necromancer Games boards and posting. I'd bet Bill or Clark (the owners)would help you out.

If your local game store will not order it in for you, I will be happy to sell it to you direct-- and if you contact me beforehand by email to be on the lookout for your order, I'll be happy to take a check or money order by mail.

For the life of me I will never understand the mentality of the local store owner who lets a sale (and an unhappy customer) walk out of his shop...

Some stores just want to make the sure sales with their initial order and not bother with customer requests.

While this was true several years ago, it's not generally the case now. In 2000, Visa changed it's policy to force all banks whose debit cards bear their symbol to provide exactly the same protections as on their credit cards.

http://usa.visa.com/personal/secure_with_visa/zero_liability.html

The Zero Liability policy covers all Visa credit and debit card transactions processed over the Visa network—online or off. The only transactions not covered under the Zero Liability policy are commercial card, ATM, and non-Visa-branded PIN transactions.

Mastercard debit cards followed suit early in 2001

My gaming store will special order me anything I ask for. Have you checked at yours?

Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping it worked.
Me: "I was wondering if you could order a copy of Grim Tales for me?"
Clerk (Just now notices that a customer's entered the store): "Uh... sure. Grim Tales? Who makes that?"
Me: "Bad Axe Games"
Clerk (writes down "Bad Tales Games"): "Sure, I'll get on that."

So, how does this work exactly? Same registration and stuff and I just give them a money order once my order's been put in? What sort of places does this work at? You've got me intrigued, but not intrigued enough to find out myself. :)

The problem with my LGS is that they've hired a bunch of late highschool/early college age people who seem about as interested in listening to music as they are noticing customers. There used to be some nice people who asked my how my miniatures came out (and even pointed out that they had mid-sized brushes), but they're all gone now. So it feels much less friendly. Given that I'm not really a people person, I'm the sort who will wait around a minute or two, looking lost, then leave. Thus a pretty major disconnect.

And thank you very much for the offer.
