D20 Call of Cthulhu! Let's talk!

OK, D20 Call of Cthulhu is on its way. AFAIK, we are still looking at a March release date. I find it odd that there seems to be very little buzz surrounding this game.

Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on this game! I've been devouring every little bit of info I can find on D20 Call of Cthulhu.

So, is ANYONE else interested in this? If so, how do you plan to use it? In a traditional Call of Cthulhu game, or as part of a D&D game? If you are gonna play straight-up Call of Cthulhu, which setting? I'm leaning towards 1920's Cthulhu.

If I have the money I will probably be picking it up, although at this point it seems unlikely. If I do pick it up I'm thinking of using them in a D20 Star Wars game.

I can't wait for it. I love CoC above all other RPGs actually.

And, I really like how it doesn't use the same set of rules that "d20 Modern" is using. Two HP tracks? No, thank you. Since it's using d20 rules, everything from other d20 products is usable right out of the box, no muss or fuss.

I'll be getting Call of Cthulhu.

If I can actually con someone to into playing with me, I'll run straight up CoC. I think Delta Green was one of the best sourcebooks I've ever seen (for any game), so I'm thinking I'll probably go with CoC modern-day setting.

I'm looking forward to it too. I don't think there's much buzz because Wizards hasn't really been advertising it. Any buzz we've seen has been fan-generated, much like Wheel of Time was. It seems to be their D20 game style, except for SW...

I Can't Wait!!!

I've been eagerly anticipating the d20 version from the get go. I was an avid GM for the Cthulhu 1920's, then recently started campaigning in the Modern times. I think I'll use the Modern setting for d20, and have all my players roll up Investigators in the Michigan area. Wait... I'll roll up investigators for them, then make them pick out of a hat... anyhow, I have alot of RL leads on mystical and paranormal events in the Michigan area that I'll conversely use as a stepping stone for the camapign. Keeping it close to home will make it easier for my friends to identify with the camapign. Anyhow thats the way I think I'm going to play it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is interested in this game! :D

Even though I'm leaning towards a 1920's setting, I must agree that Delta Green looks really good (I've never actually read it).

I haven't seen a whole lot about the D20 Call of Cthulhu rules. What I have gathered is the following:

- Sanity will be handled mostly the same. It sounds like it's Wisdom x 5 - Knowledge: Mythos.

- There will be two BAB progressions. One for your Professor, Doctor, Reporter types, and a higher one for more combat able characters. I am guessing that taking the higher BAB will result in less skill points.

- It will be classless system, but will still keep levels.

- There will be an Appendix for using Mythos things in a "standard" D&D game.

- I *think* there will be two scenarios included, kinda like the adventure in FRCS. Some nice introductory stuff.

- It will be REALLY COOL! :D

I still have quite a few questions about the game...the main one being "how does one increase the Knowledge: Mythos skill?" I am hoping that the only way to increase it is to read sanity sucking tomes not meant for mankind etc.

I'm looking forward to this a lot. I plan on running a Cthulhu Now d20 campaign and I'll also use the CoC d20 with the Far Realm from MotP and the Dragonstar setting...

Is there any official release date?
I've heard March 2002, but I'd love something more specific, like March 2nd... :)

Myself and the others i play with tend to be lazy about learning new systems which makes D20 a god send. I've always wanted to try CoC, and I'm pretty shure the rest of the group does to, so I will defanitly but it. At the very least it can warm the shelf with the stuff i buy and never use, WARHAMMER FANTASY anyone?
