Hmm... Sounds interesting. I'm working on something allong those lines myself, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a look at what you made out of it to see how you did it.
I'll go send an e-mail to you now (I hope it's not too big, I can only use hotmail for e-mails with attachments, since my pop3 thing disables them all the time).

2004-07-20
* exciting change to Weapon Proficiency (Unarmed Combat) to give it an arcade-fighting-game feel!
* updated Called Shot rules
* updated Critical Hit, Sneak Attack, and coup de grace rules

Note to all playtesters:
I am NOT managing a list of everyone who has requested D20 Elements, and therefore am not automatically sending out updates.
I do not wish to start sending out 400K files to your inbox on a regular basis!
Please check back to where you saw the D20 Elements call for playtest to see the latest rules updates, and request the file if the particular update interests you.

You are welcome to request an improvement to a particular set of rules, so as to direct my inspiration.

Minor update:

* changed overcasting rules to take advantage of how spells are set up and the Life Point / Vitality structure

* added correct (i.e., non-level-dependent) DC calculation for natural abilities like Poison

For my latest set of D20 house rules, "D20 Elements", e-mail me at grail_quest@hotmail.com!
