Hell yeah! I've been waiting for d20 Future since before they pushed the release date back the first time.

Just reading the discussion about it gives me all sorts of cool sci-fi ideas. It looks like they have done a good job of covering all the bases of sci-fi: Genetech, robots, aliens, space travel, etc.

I can't wait. :D

It looks like it will fit well with Transhuman space for setting. I hope my players will be willing to try. Especially since characters from the Grim Tales campaign would be compatible for some trek in such a place...

hmm, seems pretty cool. However, after reading the bioroids bit I found something I didn't like right off the bat. What's with them using their 5 charisma for their con skill based checks? Specifically concentration? Having them start off with a hefty minus seems pretty odd to me. I would think a robot/android would be able to concentrate much better than a human. I was also surprised to see nothing about some +2's to various skill checks involving fine manipulation. I guess since it would depend on what creature the android was built to look like. But for humans, the fact that you wouldn't have to fight with your muscles to maintain a steady hand would be an important point.

Hmm...I'm with you on the Concentration checks. Gotta house rule that, I suppose. Then again, perhaps whatever program is generating that sentient AI also gives the bot some kind of mild computer ADD --- humans subconsciously process a huge amount of sensory input all the time, and perhaps this takes up a lot of processor power, leading to a bot that is more easily distracted than typical machines.

As for the fine manipulation...I see your point, but these are supposed to be ECL +0 bots, so they just can't have every advantage which could logically flow from being an android. Perhaps some of the add-ons/software packages address this issue?
