d20 GAMMA WORLD: excerpts, links, Pure Strain Excitement

You sure about that? I've only heard tell of three releases (this year), and three releases are listed...except one title is different. How do you know it's different?

(Not trying to be difficult, just curious!)

You see that bit at the top of the thread about 'Feral Machines'?

Well, I wrote that, and about 40,000 other words of Mutants & Machines.

Didn't want to jinx it before...but I just won auctions for the classic Grenadier Gamma World boxed sets of minis...one of Adventurers and one of Denizens.

Now to decide...are they better as collector's items or should I bust them open and play? I'm tempted to paint every last one of them.

Now I am confused. I had assumed Mutants and Machines had been renamed also. What will be in the GM book? How many books does S&S have in line? I thought it was three:

17250 Gamma World Players Handbook
17251 Gamma World Game Masters Guide
17252 Mutants and Machines

There was a mention of a book by Bruce entitled "Out of the Vaults" with technological items. Is this the GM book or an additional book?

Save it as a collector's item for who? They will not appreciate in value that much if any.

Bust them out and use them. What it the use of having them if you do not enjoy them. They are not like mom's new china. (I always thought mom was silly for that too.)

so that would make the current tally

Gamma World Players Handbook (NOVEMBER)
Gamma World Game Masters Guide (DECEMBER)
Mutants and Machines (DECEMBER? LATER?)
Out of the Vaults (early 2004?)

correct?

Got me; you'd have to ask Bruce about that.

But yes, Gamma World is going to be more than just a 3-book deal.

Little over two weeks til the Player's Handbook is released...

Ready...
MUTATE!

Gamma World heroes start the game as 3rd-level characters. Each level of a starting character represents a stage in that character’s life. For some characters, 1st level might have lasted a decade as the character herded cattle and the biggest challenges he faced were stray calves. Another character might have defend her herd against monstrous mutant wolves and bandits — or monstrous mutant wolf bandits! — moving rapidly from one character level, and life stage, to the next.

I like this idea a lot, and so will my players. You rock, Bruce Baugh!
