OT, but I'm surprised they didn't treat the bayonet like a short spear - 1d6, 20/x3 crit (or is everything a x2 crit in modern? I forget).

PS -- It's almost all x2. A spear is 1d8/20, although I think it gets reach to compensate for being otherwise rather weak.

I certainly wouldn't mind treating a bayonet like a spear. That is, in effect, what it's doing. A club with a dagger tied to the front is basically a short spear.
