Just wanted to ask the following for clarification..

Is all the equipment listed the corebook PL 5 and thus subject to the -2 to Purchase DC per PL lower than campaign base? If not all is subject to that could someone please provide me with a list as to what doesn't fall prey to that.

It's just a guide, so it's more or less what the DM want's to fall to that discount, but that's the basic idea...

I dunno, Psi... depends on the sword...
A katana made in the traditional fashion with the (subpar) steels they had at the time, would be a PL 3 or so... A sword of any kind made with modern alloys, on the other hand.... well, I'd put those in PL 5, due to the manufacture, and increased knowledge of balance, strength, temper and spring. (no... not talking about your $10 swap meet swords, here, but pieces by actual weaponsmiths... Kirby, Hibben, Bjarki, Corley, and the like)
I'd put revolvers, and semiautomatic, and automatic, weapons up to about WWII era in PL 4.
As to the original question, I'd run it like it says in D20 Future, for D20 Future campaigns. Anything from a previous PL would be appropriately priced.

There is a slight problem here however...

Most world war 2 era revolvers won't sell for -2 DC, they'll sell for more, because they're collectors items. The game should take that into account, unless there's massive piles of old tech lieing around...

D20 Future does say that some things would be collectors items and the Purchase DCs should be adjusted accordingly. Little sidebar on page 5.

Well, it says 'except in the case of valuable antiques'. Which is fine except for the fact that perhaps all old guns etc are valuable antiques...
