D20 Modern criminal organizations?

Are there any rules for creating and running criminal organizations in D20Modern? Cyberpunk had WildSide, Haven has Gangland, but I don't know of an equivalent for D20Modern. I'm basically looking for something that does not focus on feats, skills and Prestige Classes, but rather, looks at the game-level creation and running of a crime family, guild, etc.

Modern has a few big groups in the menace manual rulebook,4 to 5 pages and a few sample members, some have sample base maps. Most use hero and ordinary classes.

Al-jambaya- Islamic extreamists that make Al-queda seem tame. have a blast!

Crimson scorpion, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world!

crimson uses CR10 bear human hybrids- strong hero5/tough hero 5 as shocktroopers and major guards.

GNN- international news media coaxing the people of the world to accepting a "one world government".

The Final church- Secretive devil worshipers.

Green brigade- Ecoterrorists

Le Gente- drug dealers. a map of a coke factory included in thier write up.

nautilus club- wealthy types fundng unethical research

Six fingered hand- destroy the world or mutate mankind.

You can get the Omerta Cleaning Crew for free from the D20 Modern website; that's from the Menace Manual.

You may to check out Organized Crime: the American Mafia at RPGNow. I have good news and bad. It covers promotion through the ranks pretty well, including what sort of schemes a low-ranking crook might run, reasons why someone might get assassinated, how to become a made man, etc. It doesn't seem to cover violence well, though (eg little on assassinations).

Now the bad news. It does have lots of crunch in it, including a "Made Man" Advanced Class which, IMO, totally misses the point of creating an Advanced Class (as well as missing the point of the allegience system).

YMMV.

Gangland is part of RPGObjects' Modern System line. While it is useful for Haven, it is completely compatible with d20 Modern.

Are you looking for flavor on how the crime organizations are run, or rules on how to handle it (I assign these three guys to make money, these four to expand our territory, etc)? The closest I've found for the latter is in the Quintessential Rogue, but that's for D&D/fantasy. I don't know of a modern equivalent, unfortunately.

If you want the former, and you don't mind going outside d20, then I highly recommend the Dark Champions book from Hero Games. It's got a lot of great info on criminal organizations from Tongs and Mafia to street gangs, as well as stuff on forensics, detective work, and a bunch of other stuff that would be useful for the genre.

Beyond Haven, Spycraft had a whole system on how to create and grow organizations. Basically if the heroes avoided confrontation with an organization to follow up on other leads, the ignored organization would grow more powerful and get more resources, such as Media Influence and such.

Thanks for the replies! A laundry list of cool resources to check out :) I'm interested in both or either of fluff and crunch, so most of the items mentioned seem worth checking out.
