Something I'm working on.

Most of the info is there now, but I still need to do a LOT of formatting and hyperlinking.

I never really saw d20 Future at the time. I'm quite impressed with it. You can easily run anything from Bladerunner up to Star Trek, depending on t=your choice of Progress Level. The starship combat stuff looks pretty weak at first glance, though.

I like it. Modern and its expansions have their flaws, but are nonetheless interesting. Future and its Progress Levels and approach to technology was quite good.

Out of curiosity, why is ENW suddenly hosting an SRD for a game that's been out of print for a while? It seems like you might have wanted to do it earlier on, and do it for D&D first. Testing new software capabilities? Trying to reinvigorate interest in the game?

Yikes, I do not like those starship rules. They're basically D&D character combat rules reskinned (and often not even that - a starship can be "dazed"?)

Lots of promise there, crippled by weak, weak branding ("d20 Modern"?; "Strong Hero"?) and some really dire sections like the starship stuff. But, man, SO much promise. I can't help feeling that with a slightly different direction, WotC could have killed with this. It could have been Shadowrun, Cthulhu, Buffy, and Star Trek all in one. Instead it was just not quite any of those.

I don't know about the starship rules, but I enjoyed the cybernetic and mutation stuff.

Agreed.

Oh if only. I take some d20 Modern concepts and use them for other games. I wish they had given us a truly workable generic version of D&D; I also think it could have been a much bigger thing than it was.
