[d20 Modern] "Gun Fu"...now that woulda been a great Polyhedron minigame

Just takes the guns akimbo feat from the d20 modern companion volume 1. It lets you fire one shot from each gun while dual wielding as an attack action, albeit at a -2 penalty to hit.
Actually, the Guns Akimbo feat first appeared in Charles Ryan's Ultramodern Firearms d20 (also published by Green Ronin).

Tell you the truth, I've never seen "Ultramodern Firearms".

Me neither.

¿It's in the Companion, you say?. ¿How about any 'good' gun-fu classes

I don't think there are, but the Martial Arts Mayhem supplement includes a school called the ballistic fist which is a gun fu type martial art. You can get the details on that in their free preview.

That's too bad. Ultramodern Firearms d20 was first released a month after d20 Modern Core Rulebook by the original UMF author (as well as co-designer of d20 Modern), Charles Ryan.

How you could overlook this first third-party d20 Modern support product by Green Ronin Publishing is beyond me.

And how about other kinds of trick shots, like firing the gun upside-down (by pulling the trigger with your pinky), or using the middle finger to pull the trigger?

Wasn't there a nice bit about Hong Kong gunplay in a White Wolf book?

Something like...if you want to hold your automatic sideways when you shoot, go ahead. You take a -2 to hit, there's a 50% chance your gun jams, but it looks cool there for a second, before you miss and your gun jams...

Hong Kong gun opera / martial arts. The heroes are cops or gangsters or something inbetween.

Boy! you don't know these streets too well do ya? There's a whole game of that Haven:City of Violence d20 Modern as a pdf (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=3910&). Same company puts out a "Gun Priest" class. (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=2884).

I think the Gun Fu genre would be hard to do justice to using D20 Modern with its 5ft steps, fixed movement rates, and grids to move on, set number of actions, and set rules for every little thing you try and do.
:o

Oh, I agree. In some ways it seems that changing d20 is done backwards. Why do a simple rule change when you can do a few feats, why do a few feats when you can do a whole class, why make a new class when you can make a whole game, etc.

It's alright I got my own back, I cancelled Dungeon for bashing Poly.
I am part of that Poly mini-game love. The only reason I bought Dungeon/Poly issues was for the mini-games I liked. The only Dungeons I've bought since the "drop" had a direct Eberron tie-in. I am also worried that FFG's Horizon series has quietly died and they were mentioned by Mona as pretty much the heirs of Poly's d20 min-games.

But then again, I am used to being in the minority when it comes to my tastes in d20, if you'd ask me which d20 M game would have gotten it's own book, I would have asked for either Genetech or Agents of Psi. Urban A. would have been last on my list.
