Would you buy an official D20 MODERN Magazine?

If it covered all D20 Modern settings (WotC, Gamma World, Darwin's World, Spycraft, Babylon 5, Superheroes, etc) sure I would give it a chance.

And yes the pdf.s are good, but nothing beats actually having a magazine in your hands. That moment of "Hey my new Dragon is here!", The reading here, reading there, you can read it anywhere (well maybe not in the shower).

I think the trouble is, if it were official, then people would buy it instead of 3rd party d20 Modern books.

Much like people buy Dungeon instead of 3rd party adventures.

And if it weren't official, no one would buy it, like all of the various failed d20 mags. Granted not all of those were modern (I think Campaign was partly modern)

The first thing I thought when I saw this thread was that RPGObjects is already doing this. The second thing I thought was that Vigilance has lived up to his handle yet again.

By the way, I'm not exactly a regular customer of the Modern Dispatch, but I do try to see what's out there and buy it when there's cool stuff I can use in it.

Frukathka, Knightfall1972, thank you! Glad you like it.

More MODERNIZED will be coming our way sometime in January.

That's the nice thing about the Dispatch... if you want a cornucopia of Modern and Future goodness you can subscribe and its like a dollar a week, if you want to look over the run of 60+ issues and get just the ones that interest you, its not that much more expensive (like 1.50 I think for most).

I voted yes, but it all depends on what it's target is. If it's strictly d20 Modern "dungeons" and adventures, then no - I'd stick with picking and choosing from Modern Dispatch releases. But if it was less adventure-centric I'd pick it up.

Stormborn, Psi, are either of you familiar with MODERNIZED?

Yes, I have it just like I have a lot of the issues of Modern Dispatch. The existance of a competing or complimentary product does not negate the fact that if there was a d20 Modern print magazine I would buy it and still buy pdfs products that interested me. If I, or others, can buy Marvel's Supreme Power and DC's JLA, or Scry and Inquest, or Discovery Magazine and Popular Science in the same month why can't I buy two periodicals devoted to modern gaming? I realize that many of us don't have the same degrees of disposable income, from month to month neither do I, but I honestly don't think that print and pdf prodcuts are really in competition with one another in the long run to a degree that the existance of the one would negate the other.
