[d20 Modern] Morrow Project

Morrow Project (along with Space Opera) was my first non-D&D RPG true love.

And they were mine as well. Man ... those were great times. SO even taught me Pythagorean Theorum.

So let me ask this ...if you wanted to play MP or SO, with the same flavor, but a different system ... which system would you chose for both?

I think D20M can work very nicely for MP, but for SO? Maybe Alternity, or SpaceMaster?

D20 for MP

Well I like the D20 Character Advancement System. IT allows for players to really fill out there characters with Skills, Traits, and Feats.

What I am Thinking is:
D20 Modern

Characters start with a Standard Pre War Package (Solider, Police, Medical, Academic, ect)

All Morrow Project Personal Get Some Feats and Skills to Start.
(Weapon and Armour Proficiency)

All Morrow Project Personal get a Degree (+5 Professional Skill) for Free

The It would breakdown to the Branches with Level Advancement:

One For Recon: 8 Skill Points per Level / D8 Hps
> People Skills, Some Combat, Jack of all trades approach

One for Mars: 4 Skill Points per Level / D10 Hps
> Combat Skills, Engineering, Direct Skills with Combat

One for Science 10 Skill Points per Level / D6 Hps
> Research Skills, Science and Tech Abilities

In Each Branch you have Job Roles That force you to pick up some skills:

Example:
Commander: Diplocmacy,
Radio Operation: Communications, Electrical Repair
Driver: Drive, Mechanical Repair
Medic: First Aid, KS: Doctor

Players would start At LV3 to Start.

So let me ask this ...if you wanted to play MP or SO, with the same flavor, but a different system ... which system would you chose for both?

I also thought about adopting Space Opera to d20M. Those Star Atlases are a great untapped resource.

Now though, if I were to run my own campaign using the settings for Morrow Project and/or Space Opera, I would look closely at two choices:

- Star Wars Saga. A nice fit for both. Would require a minimal adaption for Space Opera. The multiclassing and starting at 3d level would allow for each of your recon team members to have individual strengths.

- Savage Worlds. A better fit for Morrow Project than Space Opera. Would definitely make for a Pulpier Space Opera game (not necessarily a bad thing).

New Morrow Project D20 Yahoo Group and a Rule Set

Hello Everyone!

I have been running a MP Campaign for about 1 year or so and have converted the Rules to D20 Modern. I formed a new Yahoo Group D20 and put everything up on Google Docs for people to work on them (So its everyone helping).

The Yahoo Group is:
mpd20 : Morrow Project D20 Try 2

And Once you Join that you can get access to the Google Docs.

Thanks!

Has anyone thought of using Spycraft 2.0 for Morrow? The new ruleset is just begging to be taken for a spin using all modern settings and the Battlegrounds book for 1.0 had some great PA insight.

Cry

Not Morrow persay, most of the PA stuff percolating on the Crafty boards is Fallout or Bioshock based.

That said, SC2.0 is a great fit, especially using the cash system in Big Score, and the Shooter's Guide books from 93 Studios (dual statted for Twilight 2013 and SC2.0). Psionics might be tricky since, if I remember right, they're lower power and key then Shadow Force Archer's were.
