D20 Modern Vehicle Miniatures

Hiya Alex,

Thanks! Incidentally, I plan to use your Most Wanted supplement with our D20 Modern game (heresy, I know). Excellent job!

No worries. My Spycraft group loves tactical maps and cars are integral parts of their firefights, so I've found these to work well with the 28mm scale. I think the manufacturers name is Maisto.

Enjoy Most Wanted! I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Combat Missions myself - it's been a long time coming dude ;)

Never met a [human] character whose girth can fill up a 5-foot square, gamer or otherwise. ;)

here i would deploy the same logic that i do to the d20 future space scales.

its not just bulk, its the space needed for the object inside to do a 180 or more (or maybe to fight effectively) without bumping into something.

Which is why you can't do a 180 inside a car. Then again, why would you (except maybe for some backseat lovin')?

Anyhoo, if the vehicle mini looks too small, just attach it to a 2" X 4" base.

A lot of wargamers (me included) use Corgi & Solido 1:50 scale miliatary vehicles, which look great alongside 28mm miniatures.

For other vehicles, 1:43 scale looks best - Corgi, Solido and others make these and there are tons of them available on ebay and you can easily pick them up cheaply on ebay. Often you can find battered ones without boxes in job lots, that collectors don't want because they are not pristine, but they are perfect for gaming with.

Personally, I wouldn't go with the smaller scale hot rods & so on, because they don't look right. They are better with 15mm or 20mm scale figures.

Yes. Yes it has. :)

There used to a cool line of 25mm paper car models on rpg.now called Bargain Wheels. They aren't there anymore, and I don't know why.

When put togther, they did seem a bit small unless you imagined the miniature leaving it's base standing in a more natural position. The author noted that the appearance of smallness could also be alleviated by placing the vehicles on bases of their own.
