[d20 Modern] What are your must have settings/accessories?

WWII/Urban Arcana

Trying to run a WWII/Urban Arcana kind of setting--almost like the Mummy and Indiana Jones type stuff--some paranormal, and some good ol' fashioned nazi killin'. I'd like to see some conversions ( if anybody has 'em, e-mail me!" of Pinnacle's Wierd Wars vehicles and weapons for d20 modern rules. Pinnacle's vehicle combat seems clumsy compared to the new set (obviously based on the great revised Star Wars rules) and I'd like to see stats for everything from the cars of the 30s and 40s to more accurate stats for Sherman tanks, and the like. Pinnacle had a great idea in Wierd Wars II (although it's a little too militarily focused for my taste) but I have to say I like most of the WOTC rules sets better. It's be great to see just some sourcebooks for d20 modern that aren't quite so...well...modern. Show me stats for a duzenburg!

You might want to pick up and read a book by Katherine Kurtz called "Lammas Night". It's basically what you are talking about, a good WWII Urban Arcana book. You can view it here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...=sr_1_18/103-9120192-8628605?v=glance&s=books

Universe, your WWII/UA combo is exactly what I'm looking for my group. I have the Weird Wars set, and I'm just winging the vehicle and weapon conversion from their near counterparts in the d20 modern book. Not scientific, by any means.

I'm interested in what you and others are using as adventure source material. I'm a bit of a WWII historian, but even a 1 paragraph description of a strange event circa 1940's is enough for me to make an adventure out of it. I am having a hard time getting a good sourcebook to get me started, even though the setting books from PEG are okay.

The GURPS books is pretty realistic vs. occult, but I may pick it up as a general resource anyway.

Lammas Night is a great suggestion, I'd forgotten about that one!

i'm doing a WWII/Psi campaign. i'm probably going to throw in a few other weird things eventually and link them to the origin of psionics -- foo fighters, perhaps gremlins, maybe even psychic vampires in Eastern Europe...

for personal weapons, i worked up a quick 'n dirty conversion from GURPS WWII. probably not all that close, but it works for me. i haven't even attempted to do vehicles yet -- if anyone's got good d20 Modern stats for a Panzer I or SdKfz 222 armored scout car, i'd be most appreciative! :)

What's the skinny on Dark Inheritance? It sounds like a goth-horror campaign ;)

Who's publishing it?

We, Mythic Dreams Studios, are publishing Dark Inheritance. The campaign is horror but not goth. We're going for a more action horror than the personal angst horror, what we call Mythic Horror.

The basic premise is a world of terrifying action where the genetic inheritors of the gods and monsters of legend battle against ancient horrors and explore a mystical world hidden behind long forgotten gates. Hey, a one sentance ethos statement!

Dark Inheritance is set in the current modern world with all the complexities of the contemporary world melded with ancient magics and mystical threats. We've expanded upon the new d20 Modern allegiance system by creating 7 Allegiances, organizations your character can belong to. They range from Project Titan, a black-ops project within the secret Dept. 7, and the Eight Heavenly Dragons, a chinese triad that evolved from a mystical martial art school, to the Order of the Iron Rose, a clandestine organization created by the Pope centuries ago and given special dispensation to do whatever is necessary to protect the Church from harm.

Dark Inheritance takes a healthy portion of it's concept from real world mythology and meshes it with modern action horror. We're pulling from movies such as Replacement Killers (characters and action), Pitch Black (fear of the unknown, action, and monsters), and Hellboy (magic and action but less pulpish and slightly less Cthuhluesque).

We're excited to have some incredibly talented writers and artists working on the project with us. Sam Witt, Wil Upchurch, Aaron Rosenberg, Jason Olsan and Gareth Hanrahan are doing a fantastic job. Marcko Djurdjevic's art is starting to arrive and We're completely blown away; it looks incredible. We can't wait to see what Marcio Fiorito has come up with.

I just saw this, and I am adding it to my must-have list!

Countdown: Operation Dead Drop

"The unthinkable has happened.... You have 24 hours to save the world."

OtherWorld Creations, Inc is pleased to announce a new line of books for use with d20 Modern: the Countdown Mission Packs(tm). The Countdown Series presents intense, high drama missions with the urgency of the show "24" and the creativity of a Bond movie. Each Countdown Mission Pack(tm) presents
players with action-oriented, focused adventures that will plunge their characters into "catch your breath" style gaming.

Operation Dead Drop:

As the mission begins, Saddam Hussein has announced to the world that Iraq is now a nuclear power. Unless the United Nations drops all sanctions against Iraq, Israel exits completely all land claimed by the Palestinian people, and the United States ceases all aggression against the Iraqi Republic, in 24 hours a nuclear tipped Taep'o-dong 1 (TD-1) missile, acquired from North Korea, will be launched at Tel-Aviv, Israel. To further safeguard his interests, Hussein has taken a group of foreign nationals
hostage, including 15 American citizens.

In this Mission Pack(tm), PCs take the role of Delta Force soldiers sent into Iraq to complete a two-fold operation:

1. Rescue all hostages, and kill all Iraqi personnel.
2. Assassinate Saddam Hussein and thereby prevent him from launching the missile.

The hostages are being held at a secret detention facility near the city of Ar Rutbah in western Iraq. Once the hostages are rescued, the PCs must travel to the Abu Ghurayb Presidential Palace, south of Baghdad, and assassinate Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi dictator.

Both missions must be completed within 24 hours or the missile will launch. If Saddam gets word of the hostage rescue, the missile will launch. Israel has also informed the Bush Administration that if Iraq launches, Israel will respond in kind.

This Mission Pack(tm) is a challenging adventure for use with D20 Modern. Players must pit all their skills and wits against the Butcher of Baghdad in a desperate attempt to save the world.

This product includes:
- Maps and satellite imagery from the CIA and State Department!
- A detailed 32 page adventure complete with time frames and plot movers.
- 6 Pregenerated Delta Force soldiers. (7th level)

Hmmm. So lemme see if I got this straight. You're crossing a John Woo action movie with Pitch Black and Hellboy. I am sooo there.

Thanks for filling me in!
