Nah, it'll be called d20 Retro (1950-1999). :p

I was wondering when they'd finally get around to d20 for pre-modern settings, and now that they've announced it, I can't seem to come up with a better name than:

D20 Past

Any better ideas for the name?

Beyond that, though, it looks like the cover may offer steampunk and fantasy settings. Anyone looking forward to it? Or should anyone wanting to play fantasy d20 be using D&D 3.5?

Modern has impressed me with the versatility of Modern's classes and the use of talents. The only thing I think might not sit well with fantasy settings would be the wealth system. A friend of mine is working on using Modern with his D&D group come September. I will have to point him towards this product as neither of us knew anything about it (and I for one am very interested in it).

I know that I will buy this book. Seems more interesting to me than D&D (but that's just as right now I am burnt out of pure D&D).

Nonetheless, to already play something like a d20 Past game, there is of course Grim Tales, and I am just preparing my Heroic Fantasy campaign to play with it...

I've been looking forward to this even before it was announced. I was hoping they would eventually get around to making a sourcebook for "past modern settings," I just wish it was going to have more in it. Personally, I am looking forward to how much they discuss WWII.

Of course, if you want to play a d20 past game now there is Sidewinder: Recoiled, which uses the Modern rules. I'll be interested to see how well d20 Past and Recoiled work together.

Learn something new everyday

Huh.

I thought the "d20 Past" comments were basicaly someone being funny. It should be interesting to see if d20 Past inspires 3rd party publishers to be more prolific as compared to d20 Modern and d20 Future.

Well, we already have a wild west adventure book, and a steampunk book (with homage to the Victorian Period). Then there is the Weird War II from Pinnacle. Someone is coming out with a Colonial America adventure book.

And all of these are planned way before d20 Modern came out.
