d20 Post Apocalypse resources

Raflar

First Post
I've started a new campaign using (d20 Post Apocalypse / Darwin's World / Gamma World) and I'm looking for some resources to read up on... mainly any fansites of the genre (homebrew settings or any good novels that reflect the gritty post apocalypse feel with mutations.

I just finished reading "The Crysalids" which I remembered from back in highschool, and a friend mentioned that "The Postman" was good (the book, not the movie). Can anyone else recommend some good reading?

Any websites out there? Can't seem to find too much - or my Google-Fu is getting rusty.
Thanks.

First off, d20 Apocalypse is a very good setting book, though a little pricey for the length. Anyhow, I recommend it.

Awesome thanks, exactly what I was looking for... although I'm a bit surprised there aren't more fansites out there... guess maybe I should start one then?

The Darwins world material is really good. It can be mined for a lot of ideas.

I think Daren Drader? started his own Post Apocalyptic gaming website too.

These are great. Thanks. Getting a lot of ideas. I've already started to create my setting based on my area (Southern Ontario) where the Amish Mennonites are the only Pure Strain Humans and wield the most power since they never relied on technology before the collapse of society anyway. (hence not much changed for them - except they went from pacifists to "protective" militants)...

I also went and purchased some fantastic topographical maps of the area and 'tweaked' them to suit the aftermath. It's really coming along... hopefully I'll have time to create my own website and share it all...

For a glimpse into the mindset of people who are preparing for the collapse of society, as they see it, and myriad links to related sites that might provide inspiration, just google "survivalism".

http://survivalblog.com/ is a good starting point, without a lot of the politics and racism that some of those folks are obsessed with.

good post-apocalyptic books to read:

1) The day of the triffids (quentessential post-apoc book!)
2) Z is for Zachariah (for young adults, but pretty good)
3) The Stand (haven't finished it yet, but it looks alright so far)
4) A Canticle for Leibowitz (shows the "long view" of a post-apoc situation)

Those are just off the top of my head. I'm sure I'll think of more. Regarding The Postman... while it's a pretty good book, I'd actually recommend the movie this time - I didn't really get much out of the book, and the dicussion with a giant computer *really* blew the Post-Apoc feel for me. While the Postman has it's faults (and there are a lot of them... I'm looking at you, Tom Petty!), it's at least got some pretty nice visuals.
