d20 Vampire??

Good point, but I think you miss part of what I was saying. This has happen to ww before with gurps. More people played the game that never would before, but changes the feel of the game. d20 is a strategy( if I move 5' here, I can attack there) while the storyteller system is almost ALL about the story itself.

I'm sorry, but what you just said gets under my skin like few other things.

The system does NOT make the game.

With the addition of the social skills suchs as diplomacy, bluff, & sense motive, d20 is now just as capable of being a social or political game as the Storyteller system.

I think where people get confused is because the opposite is not true. The Storyteller system isn't even close to being as good at handling combat as the d20 system. Of course, this isn't much of a problem for the WoD games because combat is usually discouraged.

However, I do think the WoD games would be better if it had a more streamlined combat system. Why not?

My point is this:

D20 does a great job with both the martial and social aspects of the game.

Storyteller, while great with the social aspects, does [In my opinion] a very poor job of handling combat.

I see no reason AT ALL not to convert Vempire to d20. The fact is, a great many WoD players look down on d20 because it's first offspring was D&D. Because in the past, the D&D system didn't bother with the social skills, many WoD players still look down on the system and refuse to give it a shot. Now the d20 system has evolved into a true ROLE-playing game, and yet they still refuse to look at it.

Who would have thought that people who pretend to be Vampires and Werewolves would be so close minded.

i for one would love vampire d20. i do not play vampire currently, and probably never will simply because i do not have the time to be involved in another campaign and also i have learned to many systems that i do not like allready, one more would be to many. with that said, i love all the stuff i have read about the WoD (mostly on the internet, a small ammount of flipping through them at my local game shop), and vampire: dark ages seems like a no brainer to convert. if WW came out with a d20 vampires book and i liked it, i would be way more likley to buy some WoD stuff to check it out. if they could just give me templates for the clans, and some kind of writeup on blood points that worked with d20, i would buy it in a second and my campaign would be far better off because of it. i have no doubt that alot of the d20 community would as well because everyone knows that when you think of roleplaying games involving vampires, you think of white wolf as the undesputed king.

i do not think a stand alone d20 version of vampire the masquerade would do all that well because people who want to play that game as it is, are currently doing so and would undoubtedly resist such a change fiercly. however a white wolf style vampire book as a d20 monster suppliment (think the slayers guides but with actual useful information that really bring the chosen creature to life in your mind the way only the WW folks can) could not help but make a load of cash. not from the core WW book buyer, but from people like me who like the idea but are sticking with d20 because we know that we like it. come on folks, give it a shot.......

Have you seen the vampires on page 176 of the Ravenloft book? It would take less than 10 minutes to make a Vampire-esqe game with them. Change the Salient Powers a little and change them to the clan system from Vampire. Of course, this leaves out the one reason I played Vampire, the character building system which I like a whole damn. (that's the first time I have ever said whole damn, it will stop)

If you are looking for converting the character system from Vampire, its going to be really hard without changing the feat system and such, and changing the feat system sucks, hard.

If there are any errors in this message, I won't know because I am not going to read this back for fear of what I typed.
