D20 Vaporware

First Post
What are some of the favorite D20 supplements that never, quite, happened? The ones that were announced, advertised and then... nothing.

One I waited for was Steamtrains & Sorcery, but then I am a big steam era fan (somewhere there is a picture of me at the throttle of an 0-4-0...).

Bloodline by Mongoose, announced, shown in Game Trade... then nothing.

Iron Kingdoms may finally removed itself from this category.

What are some of the others?

The Auld Grump, the devil is playing with my idle hands...

Now that takes me back, Whizbang Dustyboots. Of course Stoink would have been AD&D, not d20, but it is still discussed from time-to-time on Rob Kuntz's boards :D

Wow. I'm still waiting for that also. It was called something like "Wasp Nest: City State of Stoink." If I recall correctly, it was mentioned by Gygax as a project he had in the works, but then he left (or was forced from, depending on who tells it) TSR.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, d20 vaporware. Well, there was Earth 1066, which really staked out some ambitious plans, and we occasionally heard how it really was coming along, but nothing yet.

Necromancer's City of Brass is still being worked on, as is the Wilderlands boxed set, but they're both so long overdue that I'm sure some see them as vaporware (but I still have faith in Clark and the rest of the Necro gang).

Windhaven - City source, detailed street by street, they had a web site, some very good maps, and it looked to be a plan but it just disappeared. :(

Yes, Windhaven was the one I was most looking forward to. The few maps they were showing around were beautiful. Sadly, it just vanished.

Another AD&D product that never materialized was Dregoth's Ascension, though I'm told that athas.org is working on something with the same name. As for d20 stuff, well, I still haven't seen neither hair nor hide of Warlords of the Accordlands.

Oh, and Necromancer has been talking about Bard's Gate ever since the Crucible of Freya, which was released in 2000. It's currently listed as a February 2006 release on their site.

Edit: Just as I hit the Send button, I thought of one more thing: Of Sound Mind II.

Mastertools...the ultimate gaming tool, integrating character generation, 3-D graphics, tile-based mapping, and campaign management software. The presentation at Gen Con 2001 made me drool. Sadly, the current crop of computer-based campaign management tools don't do it for me. While Dundjinni probably comes closest to what Mastertools was touted to become, it still doesn't give me quite the quiver down the spine Mastertools did -- I really wanted those Arcanum engine graphics!
