[d20M] H&K MP7

I was going to post about that (Just saw the link to it on Fark).

I'm not sure how much damaging it would be, though.

OTOH, its' really fast. But it's small. 4.6 mm, that's almost like the size of a pellet used in a BB gun (I think this is .180 caliber, pellets are .177). It should penetrate really well, but almost too well - probably just go right through a person (which obviously would hurt, but not as much as if all the kinetic energy was transferred, like when a bullet sticks in you).

Cool looking though.

This is a good gun. Pistol sized but with SMG capabilities. The small round is quite capapble of doing harm, and serves the purpose of the gun: a PDW.

Several (if not a lot) of arms companies right are making a series of PDW, or Personal Defense Weapons. This is H&K's entry into that arena and it fits the requirements perfectly.

Personal Defence Weapons are easy to conceal, light weight, and can also deliver a fairly high volume of fire. Thye are perfect for bodyguards, a vehicle drivers.

Don't kid yourself, the small round will go through one side of a car (which is all you need!) and probably out the other side.

FN made a bid on the market several years ago when the rolled out the P90 and it pretty much bombed. The Russians have about dozen different companies working on their own concepts.

Now for something really sexy check this out. Yep that's right, its new and just released maybe three weeks ago. Heck, it isn't even up on the H&K German site. Hot off the press folks!

Oh, and for those of you that don't know, the English no longer own H&K, it has been bought back to Germany by a group of German investors.

Cheers!

So does anyone have the proposed weapon stats for the MP7 (preferably for d20M and Spycraft)?

Shouldn't be too hard to think some up, after all your options ar e pretty limited with D20 Modern.

Change: Rate of Fire: S, A, B

To: Rate of Fire: S, A

It has no multi-round burst selection (like some MP5s). It is either single or auto.

Change: Damage: 2d8

To: Damage: 2d4

It is a small round and probably does as much damage as a .32 ACP

OR

You up the damage to one level becaus it be a bit more higher powered (necked cartridge) so....

To: Damage: 2d6

Well spotted I miss read the icons on the side.

Your damage seems high, as well.

I'd drop it down to at least 2d6, probably even 2d4.

The ammo is described as .22 caliber, was it not?

Doesn't seem to have much stopping power-- other than the obvious demoralizing effect of walking into .22 cal full auto.

EDIT: You posted while I was writing this, Richard. I would leave it at 2d4, personally. Granted that we're all on the same page regarding d20 Modern damage values-- to wit, it's more about balance and style than about realism-- this gun would hold its own against others on the list with better base damage. It's a fine choice at 2d4.

I am gonna need a bigger trenchcoat. Now I gotta hide two Desert Eagles, the Barret Light Fifty, and two MP7s. Not to mention all the ammo I am gonna need...

I was going from the energy levels from the technical specs on the website listed above, which puts it very similar if a better penetrator than the 5.56mm round.
