[D20Reviews] Add you own products!

Yes folk, you heard right, you can now add your own products to the D20 Reviews page. And once approved you can then update them as well!

To add you new product, find your publisher of choice, either from the full publisher list or by finding a review or product already entered. Then simply click on the new option to add a product (in red, just above the product list).

Please read the next page, as it explains certain things about how everything will work.

Once you have added the product it will appear on a list of products awaiting approval for moderators to check over, which if you have added everything correctly should be straight away.

After your product has been approved you will also then be able to edit the product, updating release dates, adding extra information and providing links to off-site reviews and purchase links.

[Note to moderators: The approval page is at the bottom of your admin menu. It will display the number of products awaiting approval. Please contact me if you need any help - it should be self explanatory]

I look forward to seeing many new products in the database in the near future! I'll soon be adding some more new functionality to the reviews site so keep your eyes peeled! (including a most recently added products list!)

Is there a way we can be given access to our products that are already listed?

Also, I've added a new listing for the Second World Sourcebook since the old one had gotten out of date.

Great system!

Very nice, thanks much.

I second the request to have access to existing products. One thing in particular I would like to be able to do is update links to outside reviews.

I knew it! I did, I knew someone would ask!

To be honest I've being trying to think of a way to work this out, and yes it is possible, if we can kinda guarentee that the username we put in actually belongs to who it should.

If anyone can work out a way of doing this I would appreciate any suggestions?

It would be fantastic to be able to update our products. I know ours are getting out of date. Not being able to update information, especially pre-release blurbs hinders us somewhat.

How about the expedient kludge of letting publishers add new entries with the same title as an old entry then deleting the old entry when you see a duplication?

You could always ask us to tell you what user we use on the review page. I'm "Throwing Dice" over there. (Although, we should probably not do this on the board. Email would probably be better.)

To verify the user is who it's supposed to be, instead of having them use the standard log in, have it go to another forum to collect an additional piece of data, something that only the publisher has access to and upon acceptance, null the field out so that the user, if he has another product to edit, has to reenter it. Could be bothersome if the person has a lot of material to edit, but is more secure.
