D24 & D30....

a d3 is shaped kind of like a slightly flat football. I can see constructing a d5 or a d7 along similar lines.

I got some d1's. They're transparent cubical marbles with a single bubble of air in the center. No matter which way it's rolled, you still see the same, single, "dot."

I like that dream Die that was put out last year that is a cool looking die.

I remember those dice above ...wow I think I have been playing too long or something.

How many rolls does a die need to go through before it is generally considered 'true'? Obviously, the more rolls the better, but is there any kind of accepted point where most experts on this would agree that a die is indeed random?

That's sort of the wrong way to ask the question. If you're doing a statistical test to test a die's fairness, you're going to use the chi-squared test. In order to meet the assumptions of the test you have to roll the die at least five times for each possible result. However, what you're really asking about is the sensitivity of the test, which is the probability that we say an unfair die is unfair. Obviously we want that probability to be high. To calculate that power, you need to define what "unfair die" means. Is a die where one face comes up twice as often as it should unfair? What about where a face comes up 1.1 times as much as it should? Or 1.01? The lower you define that number, the more you will have to roll in order to have a good sensitivity.

Ah, see, I knew I should have taken a few more math classes instead of those silly philosophy courses in college. :p

Despite of my complete unfamiliarity with mathematical terminology, I see what you are saying. The practical upshot of this is that judgments of fairness made by die producers are pointless without knowing the sensitivity they are basing the judgment on. I would doubt such a thing is regulated in any manner outside casinos.
