When I roll a d3, I usually take a d6 and

1-2 = 1
2-4 = 2
5-6 = 3

Go me. I'm eccentric like that.

But I 'thought' you could theoretically build dice with 400 perfect sides in a computer model. Is that wrong? Is it impossible to have any more than 20 perfect sides?

I don't know of any. A "d30" isn't a perfect Polyhedron since it is beveled in a manner similar to a d100. Now, I'm not saying that there isn't one beyond a d20, but I don't know of any.

We do that as well. Except a 2 is only begotten by rolling 3 and 4, not 2
